Recruitment Overview
The Department of Posts has invited online applications to fill Gramin Dak Sevak vacancies across various postal circles and divisions. Eligible candidates can apply online for Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster, and Dak Sevak positions.
Selection is entirely merit-based using 10th standard board marks without any written test or interview. Only one registration and one division preference submission per candidate is permitted.

The candidate must be between 18 and 40 years of age as of 21.09.2026. Upper age relaxations apply for reserved categories:

Educational Qualification & Mandatory Skills
- Secondary School Examination (SSE): Passed 10th standard from a recognized board with passing marks in Mathematics and English.
- Compulsory Local Language: Studied the official local language of the postal circle up to at least Class 10.
- Computer Literacy: Basic operational knowledge of computers and smartphone devices.
- Cycling Skills: Ability to ride a bicycle or drive a two-wheeler for daily duty requirements.
- Livelihood Condition: Must possess secondary income sources for adequate livelihood alongside GDS allowances.

Registration Instructions (Step-by-Step)
- Visit the official portal and navigate to the One-Time Registration (OTR) module.
- Provide an active 10-digit mobile number and valid email ID, then complete OTP verification for both.
- Enter your Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, and Date of Birth exactly as printed on your SSC Class 10 certificate.
- Choose your Gender, Category, and Community according to your official government certificates.
- Submit the form to generate your unique Registration Number and login credentials.
Application Submission & Post Preferences
- Log in using your Registration Number, password, and registered mobile OTP.
- Fill in marital status, disability status (with PwBD Category A–E if applicable), and employment NOC details.
- Enter complete Present and Permanent addresses without disallowed special characters (only dots, commas, and hyphens permitted).
- Enter Class 10 Board details, passing year, subject-wise marks or grades, and CGPA score if applicable.
- Select Circle and Division, then assign numerical preference rankings for all eligible vacant posts.
- Upload your recent photograph (30–100 KB, 5:4 aspect ratio) and clear scanned signature (20–50 KB, 5:2 ratio).
- Preview the full form, complete the online fee payment if applicable, and download the submitted application PDF.
Correction / Edit Window Guidelines
- Window Schedule: The edit portal opens for two days from 23.09.2026 to 24.09.2026 (up to 17:00 Hrs).
- Editable Fields: Candidates can modify names, marks, board selections, and post choices.
- Non-Editable Fields: Mobile number and registered email ID cannot be changed under any circumstances.
- Category Upgrade: Changes requiring fee payment will only take effect after successfully depositing the fee.
- Submission Rule: Once modified and submitted, the earlier application is canceled and replaced by the new version.
Selection Criteria & Grade Conversion
The merit list is system-generated based on Class 10 board aggregate marks rounded to four decimal places. Grade-only marksheets are converted using the standard 9.5 multiplier:

Documents Required for Physical Verification
Shortlisted candidates must present original certificates along with two sets of self-attested photocopies:
- Secondary School Examination (Class 10) original marksheet and passing certificate.
- Official Date of Birth (DoB) proof certificate.
- Government Identity Card (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, or Passport).
- Community / Caste Certificate (SC, ST, or OBC Non-Creamy Layer in prescribed format).
- EWS Income & Asset Certificate for the relevant financial year.
- PwBD Disability Certificate or Transgender Certificate where applicable.
- Medical Fitness Certificate issued by an authorized Government Medical Officer.
- Tribal language proficiency certificate (for Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, or Goa posts).
