The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has released the official notification for the direct recruitment of Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (Clerk), and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (Accounts) for 2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill 537 vacancies in the Ministerial, Accounts, and Confidential cadres.

🚀 Selection Process

  • Stage 1: Written Examination
    An objective type online/offline exam of 400 marks. Candidates must score at least 35% in each subject and 40% overall to qualify.
  • Stage 2: Document Verification & PST
    Successful candidates will be called for Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST). This stage is qualifying in nature.
  • Stage 3: Computer Typing / Stenography Test
    Qualified candidates will undergo a Typing Test. For SI (Confidential), a Stenography test will also be conducted. This is also qualifying in nature.
  • Stage 4: Final Merit List
    The final list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination, subject to qualifying the DV, PST, and Skill Tests.
  • Stage 5: Medical Examination & Character Verification
    Selected candidates will undergo a medical checkup and police verification before appointment.

  • Step 2 (Login): Log in using your OTR credentials (Account ID/Password, Aadhaar, or DigiLocker) to access the application form.
  • Step 3 (Details): Fill in your personal details and educational qualifications carefully. Ensure specific “O” Level details are accurate.
  • Step 4 (Upload): Upload required documents via DigiLocker. If documents are not on DigiLocker, scan and upload them manually. Photo must be live/real-time.

What is the “SI Confidential” Post?

The SI (Confidential) post is a special role for Stenographers. In this role, you will work closely with senior police officers. You will be responsible for handling secret documents, typing confidential reports, and taking dictations in Shorthand. That is why learning Stenography (Shorthand) is mandatory for this specific post.

What is “O” Level Certification?

The “O” Level is a 1-year basic computer diploma course provided by NIELIT (formerly known as DOEACC). It teaches you computer basics like Office, Web Design, and Programming.


Don’t have “O” Level? Don’t worry! If you have a B.Tech (CS/IT), BCA, BSc (Computer Science), or PGDCA from a recognized university, you are also eligible!
