Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northern Railway has invited online applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961. This recruitment drive is one of the largest opportunities for ITI pass candidates, offering 4116 training slots across various Clusters including Lucknow, Ambala, Delhi, and Firozpur.
The application window opened on 25 November 2025 and will remain active until 24 December 2025. The selection will be purely based on the merit list prepared from the marks obtained in Matriculation (10th) and ITI. There will be no written examination or interview. Candidates selected for this training will receive a stipend as per rules and may be eligible for a 20% quota in future Railway Level-1 recruitments.

💰 Application Fee
Candidates must pay the application fee online. No other mode of payment is accepted.
- General / OBC / EWS: ₹ 100/- (Non-Refundable)
- SC / ST / PwBD / Women: NIL (Exempted)
- Payment Mode: Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria (As on 18.11.2025)
1. Educational Qualification
- Matriculation: Candidate must have passed SSC/Matriculation/10th class with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board.
- Technical Qualification: Must possess an ITI Trade Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
- Note: Candidates awaiting results for 10th or ITI are NOT eligible.
2. Age Limit (As on 24.12.2025)
The candidate must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age. Age relaxation is applicable as follows:

🚀 Selection Process
- Merit Calculation: The merit list will be prepared based on the average of marks in Matriculation (minimum 50%) and ITI trade marks. Both qualifications are given equal weightage (50% each).
- No Exam: There is no written test or oral interview.
- Tie-Breaker: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred. If dates of birth are also identical, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be selected.
- Medical Fitness: Final engagement is subject to a “Fit” certificate from a Government Authorized Doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.
📝 How to Apply Online?
- Step 1: Go to the RRC Northern Railway official website: www.rrcnr.org.
- Step 2: Click on “Engagement of Act Apprentice” and select “Candidate Registration”.
- Step 3: Register using your Name, Father’s Name, Community, Mobile No., and Email ID.
- Step 4: Login with the password sent to your email/SMS.
- Step 5: Fill in the application form, entering your marks exactly as per your mark sheets. Convert CGPA to percentage if necessary.
- Step 6: Select your preferred Cluster and Units.
- Step 7: Upload scanned images of your Photograph, Signature, Thumb Impression, and all required certificates (10th, ITI, Caste, etc.).
- Step 8: Pay the application fee (if applicable) and submit the form.
- Step 9: Print the generated application form and fee receipt for future Document Verification (DV).
