The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially issued the Online Preliminary Examination Call Letter for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) to recruit Probationary Officers and Management Trainees across 11 participating Public Sector Banks.

Candidates who completed registration between 01.07.2026 and 21.07.2026 can download their hall tickets using the official candidate login portal. The recruitment drive fills over 6,715 vacancies across major institutions including Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, and other public sector lenders.

Preliminary Online Examination Scheme

The Preliminary Exam consists of 100 multiple-choice objective questions with separate 20-minute sectional timers for each of the three tests.

Negative Marking Penalty: For each wrong answer in objective tests, 0.25 (1/4th) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. Unattempted questions attract zero penalty. Candidates must qualify in each of the three sections individually by securing category-specific cut-off marks.

Mandatory Documents to Carry on Exam Day
  • Printed Call Letter: Clear printout of the valid Online Preliminary Exam Call Letter.
  • Passport Photographs: One recent passport-sized color photograph pasted on the call letter plus one additional identical photograph to be handed over during attendance verification. (Candidates reporting without photos will be barred from taking the exam).
  • Valid ORIGINAL Photo ID: PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter’s Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, Employee ID, or authorized Bar Council ID. (Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are strictly invalid).
  • Photocopy of ID Proof: Self-attested clear xerox copy of the same photo identity document pinned to the call letter.
  • Scribe Form (If Applicable): PwBD candidates using a scribe must carry the filled-in Scribe Declaration Form and Appendix certificates.
Important Call Letter Preservation Rule
Do Not Discard Prelims Call Letter: The Preliminary Exam call letter and copy of ID proof will NOT be collected at the prelims test center. Instead, they will be stamped and authenticated by the exam invigilator and returned to you. If shortlisted, you must produce this authenticated/stamped Preliminary call letter and ID proof along with your Main Exam call letter during the Main Examination. Candidates failing to produce stamped prelims call letters will not be allowed to take the Main Exam.
Strict Exam Hall Regulations & Banned Items
  • Prohibited Electronic Gadgets: Mobile phones, smartwatches, digital wristwatches, Bluetooth earphones, microphones, pagers, health fitness bands, calculators, cameras, pen drives, and electronic scanners.
  • Stationery & Bags: Books, notes, loose paper, pencil boxes, plastic pouches, scales, writing pads, geometry items, and personal bags.
  • Personal Accessories: Goggles, hairpins, hairbands, belts, caps, jewelry/ornaments (rings, chains, nose pins, earrings), metallic items, water bottles, and open/packaged food items.
  • Biometric Thumb Capture: Ensure fingertips are clean, dry, and free of stamped ink, Mehndi, or henna to avoid biometric verification failures.
  • Reporting Time: Arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes prior to the reporting time indicated on your hall ticket. Latecomers will not be admitted once gates close.

  2. Select your preferred interface language (Hindi or English).
  3. Enter your Registration Number or Roll Number received during online application.

Check that your Registration Number and Password/DOB are typed without leading/trailing spaces. Ensure the Captcha code is updated and correct. If issues persist, use the Forgot Password utility.
6. Is it mandatory to preserve the Preliminary Call Letter after the exam?
Yes. The Prelims call letter is stamped by the exam invigilator and handed back to you. You must produce this stamped copy along with the Main Exam call letter during the Mains phase.
