IBPS PO Prelims Admit Card 2026 – Summary
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially issued the Online Preliminary Examination Call Letter for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) to recruit Probationary Officers and Management Trainees across 11 participating Public Sector Banks.
Candidates who completed registration between 01.07.2026 and 21.07.2026 can download their hall tickets using the official candidate login portal. The recruitment drive fills over 6,715 vacancies across major institutions including Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, and other public sector lenders.
The selection process comprises three successive stages: Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination (Objective & Descriptive), followed by a Personality Test and Common Interview coordinated by Nodal Banks.

The Preliminary Exam consists of 100 multiple-choice objective questions with separate 20-minute sectional timers for each of the three tests.

Negative Marking Penalty: For each wrong answer in objective tests, 0.25 (1/4th) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. Unattempted questions attract zero penalty. Candidates must qualify in each of the three sections individually by securing category-specific cut-off marks.
Mandatory Documents to Carry on Exam Day- Printed Call Letter: Clear printout of the valid Online Preliminary Exam Call Letter.
- Passport Photographs: One recent passport-sized color photograph pasted on the call letter plus one additional identical photograph to be handed over during attendance verification. (Candidates reporting without photos will be barred from taking the exam).
- Valid ORIGINAL Photo ID: PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter’s Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, Employee ID, or authorized Bar Council ID. (Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are strictly invalid).
- Photocopy of ID Proof: Self-attested clear xerox copy of the same photo identity document pinned to the call letter.
- Scribe Form (If Applicable): PwBD candidates using a scribe must carry the filled-in Scribe Declaration Form and Appendix certificates.
Do Not Discard Prelims Call Letter: The Preliminary Exam call letter and copy of ID proof will NOT be collected at the prelims test center. Instead, they will be stamped and authenticated by the exam invigilator and returned to you. If shortlisted, you must produce this authenticated/stamped Preliminary call letter and ID proof along with your Main Exam call letter during the Main Examination. Candidates failing to produce stamped prelims call letters will not be allowed to take the Main Exam.
Strict Exam Hall Regulations & Banned Items
- Prohibited Electronic Gadgets: Mobile phones, smartwatches, digital wristwatches, Bluetooth earphones, microphones, pagers, health fitness bands, calculators, cameras, pen drives, and electronic scanners.
- Stationery & Bags: Books, notes, loose paper, pencil boxes, plastic pouches, scales, writing pads, geometry items, and personal bags.
- Personal Accessories: Goggles, hairpins, hairbands, belts, caps, jewelry/ornaments (rings, chains, nose pins, earrings), metallic items, water bottles, and open/packaged food items.
- Biometric Thumb Capture: Ensure fingertips are clean, dry, and free of stamped ink, Mehndi, or henna to avoid biometric verification failures.
- Reporting Time: Arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes prior to the reporting time indicated on your hall ticket. Latecomers will not be admitted once gates close.
- Visit the official IBPS online portal or click the login link provided in the action box below.
- Select your preferred interface language (Hindi or English).
- Enter your Registration Number or Roll Number received during online application.
- Enter your Password or your Date of Birth in the exact format: DD-MM-YY (including hyphens).
- Type the Captcha security code displayed on the screen and click “Login”.
- Verify your candidate details, examination venue address, reporting session, and roll number.
- Click “Print Call Letter” and save a copy on your device.
- Take at least 2 clear printouts on A4 paper and paste your passport photograph securely in the provided box.

1. How do I download my IBPS PO Prelims Call Letter?
Visit the IBPS login portal, select language, enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Password or Date of Birth (DD-MM-YY), input the Captcha code, and click Login to view and print your admit card.
2. What should I do if there is a delay in accessing the login page?
Heavy server traffic can slow down page responsiveness. Please retry after an interval of 15 to 30 minutes or try accessing the portal during off-peak night/early morning hours.
3. Where do I get my Registration Number and Password?
Your Registration Number and Password were generated automatically during registration and sent to your registered Email ID and Mobile SMS. You can also retrieve them using the “Forgot Password” link on the login screen.
4. Why is my Date of Birth rejected on the login screen?
Ensure your Date of Birth matches your submitted application data and is entered in the strict format DD-MM-YY with hyphens. For example, 15th January 1999 must be entered as
15-01-99.
5. What should I do if the screen displays “Login Failed”?
Check that your Registration Number and Password/DOB are typed without leading/trailing spaces. Ensure the Captcha code is updated and correct. If issues persist, use the Forgot Password utility.
6. Is it mandatory to preserve the Preliminary Call Letter after the exam?
Yes. The Prelims call letter is stamped by the exam invigilator and handed back to you. You must produce this stamped copy along with the Main Exam call letter during the Mains phase.
7. How many passport photos must I bring to the exam hall?
You must paste one color photograph on the call letter and carry at least one additional identical photograph to attach to the attendance sheet. It is recommended to keep 8 identical copies ready for subsequent stages.
8. What is the penalty for wrong answers in the Prelims exam?
A penalty of 0.25 (1/4th) of the mark assigned to a question is deducted for every incorrect response in the objective test. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
9. Are digital ID cards on mobile phones or ration cards valid ID proofs?
No. Mobile screen captures, soft copies, Ration Cards, and Learner’s Driving Licenses are strictly not accepted. Only valid ORIGINAL physical government photo IDs are permitted.
