Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2026): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University on or before 01.08.2026. Only candidates possessing skills in stenography are eligible.

  • Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2026 (born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2008).

Computer Based Examination Scheme & Pattern

The CBE consists of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions set in English and Hindi. A negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each wrong answer.

Steps to Download SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2026

  1. Visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission at https://ssc.gov.in.
  2. Click on the login or admit card section on the portal.
  3. Select the link for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2026 Admission Certificate.
  4. Enter your One-Time Registration (OTR) number and password.
  5. Submit the details to open the candidate dashboard.
  6. Verify your examination shift, venue, and reporting instructions.
  7. Download the Admission Certificate and take a clear printout to carry to the examination hall.

Mandatory Documents to Carry to the Examination Center

  • Printed copy of the official SSC Stenographer Admission Certificate.
  • At least two recent passport-size colour photographs.
  • Original valid Photo-Identity Proof having the Date of Birth printed as per the Admission Certificate (such as Passport, Voter ID Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Service/Employer ID Card, Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book, or School/College ID).
  • If the Photo ID card does not have the complete date of birth, an additional original certificate (such as Matriculation Certificate, Marks Sheet issued by CBSE/ICSE/State Boards, or Birth Certificate) as proof of Date of Birth.
  • PwBD/PwD candidates using a scribe must bring the required Medical Certificate, Undertaking, and Scribe ID documents.
Candidates who did not authenticate through ID verification at the time of OTR/application must report to the examination venue 2 hours before the scheduled time for manual verification.
